세계선교사지원센터 소개
세계선교사지원센터는 한국교회와 서방선진국에 세워진 한인교회들이 연합해, 전세계 200여개국에 흩어져 사역하는 20,000여 한인 선교사들을 지원하기 위하여 2000년 8월 1일 설립되었습니다. 뉴질랜드에서 시작한 이 사역이 호주와 미국, 캐나다 등 서방 선진국으로 계속해서 뻗어 나가 Network을 형성하여 보다 효율적으로 세계선교에 이바지하여 하나님의 영광을 드러내는데 궁극적인 목적이 있습니다.
매년 4-5천명 이상의 선교사가 안식년을 맞지만, 어떤 선교사는 한국에 돌아와 안식년을 보내는 것이 여의치 않아 선교지에 그대로 머물러 있어야만 하고, 어떤 선교사는 한국에 돌아왔지만 기거할 주택이 마련되지 않아 가족이 뿔뿔이 흩어져 지내야만 하는 안타까운 소식을 접하게 됩니다. 열악한 선교지에서 쇠약해진 몸과 영혼을 회복하고, 재충전하기 위해서는 안식년을 보다 알차게 보내는 것이 급선무인데도 선교사를 파송하는 교회들이 이 일을 위해 충분히 준비하지 못하고 있는 것이 우리의 현실이기도 합니다.
이런 선교사님들의 현실적인 어려움들을 서방 선진국에 흩어져 살고 있는 한인교회와 성도들이 한국 교회와 더불어 섬겨 나갈 수 있다고 믿어져 세계선교사지원센터를 설립하게 되었습니다.
The World Missionary Support Centre was established on 1 August 2000. It was formed with the purpose of supporting some 20,000 Korean missionaries scattered around 200 countries around the world. The mission, which began in New Zealand, continues to expand to other Western countries such as Australia, United States and Canada, forming a network to better serve the world's missionary work and reveal the glory of God.
More than five thousand missionaries have their sabbatical year every year. The purpose of a sabbatical year is for missionaries to restore and recharge their bodies and souls after working in the mission field. Some missionaries have to stay at the mission field during their sabbatical year as it is not easy to come back to Korea, while others return to Korea only to find themselves with no house to live in. The reality is that most churches that send missionaries are not fully prepared to look after them during their sabbatical year.
The World Missionary Support Centre was established because we believe that Korean Christians living in developed countries can work with Korean churches to serve and fulfil these needs.

08 ㅣ 세계선교사지원센터 설립
임기홍 목사에 의해 뉴질랜드 오클랜드에 설립된 세계 선교사 지원센터는 뉴질랜드 정부에 비영리 기관으로 등록되었고(AK/10637321), 또한 뉴질랜드 정부의 Charities Commission에 Charitable Entity로 등록되었음(CC30345).

The World Missionary Support Centre was established in Auckland, New Zealand by Reverend Gideon Im. It has been registered as a non-profit organisation in New Zealand (AK/10637321) and has also been registered as a Charitable Entity (CC30345).
12 ㅣ 로뎀의 집 사역 시작
첫번째 로뎀의 집이 오클랜드 중심에서 서쪽으로 20여분 떨어진 곳(62 Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu South, Auckland)에 소재한 2층집에서 시작됨. 이 집은 세계 선교사 지원센터를 후원하는 이용찬, 이선혜 집사님 가정이 저렴한 가격에 빌려주셔서 사용할 수 있게 되었음.
12 ㅣ First Rodem House
The first Rodem house was situated about 20 minutes west of central Auckland (62 Te Atatur Road, Te Atatur South, Auckland). The Lee family (Lee Yong-chan and Lee Sun-hye), who supported the World Missionary Support Centre, allowed us to rent the property at a cheaper price. This property was made available to missionaries to spend their sabbatical year in New Zealand.
01 ㅣ 미션 드림 트립
2001년부터 매년 여름 방학을 이용하여 한국에 있는 농어촌 교회 목회자 자녀와 미자립 교회 자녀들을 대상으로 5차례에 걸쳐 미션 드림 트립을 실시함.
01ㅣMission Dream Trip
Since 2001, the World Missionary Support Centre has run Mission Dream Trips for children of pastors and children from local churches in South Korea. The youth spend their summer vacation in New Zealand learning about mission work and other cultures, as well as learning some English.
06 ㅣ 전문인 선교 훈련원 개설
뉴질랜드에 흩어져 있는 평신도들 가운데 선교에 대한 관심과 열정이 있는 성도들을 대상으로 전문인 선교 훈련원을 개설하여 운영함.

The World Missionary Support Centre runs a Missionary Training Centre, which is open to Christians who are interested and passionate about mission work.
07ㅣ 요나 선교학교 및 선교 집회 실시
2002년부터 이재환 선교사를 모시고 뉴질랜드에서 사역하는 한인교회 지도자들을 대상으로 '요나 선교학교’와 교민들을 대상으로 하는 선교 집회를 5차례 실시함.

Since 2002, the World Missionary Support Centre has held five conferences focused on mission work.
10 ㅣ 로뎀마을 사역이 본격화 됨
오클랜드 남쪽에 소재한 (45 Claude Road, Manurewa, Auckland) 300여평의 땅에 지어진 방 3개 규모의 단독주택을 구입하였고, 이듬해에는 이성열, 오영옥 장로 부부가 기증한 방 3개 짜리 집 한 채를 앞 마당에 옮겨놓게 되므로 두 가정이 동시에 머물 수 있게 됨.
10 ㅣ Rodem Village’s Work is in full force
The World Missionary Support Centre purchased a three bedroom house in South Auckland (45 Claude Road, Manurewa, Auckland) for missionaries to stay in. In the following year we relocated a house, which was donated by elder Sung Yeol Lee and Younk Ok Oh’s family, to the front yard of the existing Rodem house.

세계적인 선교단체인 SIL의 리서치 결과 이리얀자야에 마지막으로 남은 미전도 종족 8개 가운데 하나인 Mere 부족을 Come Mission 과 연합하여 정탐함.
01ㅣIrian Jaya Missionary Research Trip
Following the research result of the International Mission Organisation SIL that there were 8 unreached tribes in Irian Jaya (one of them being the Mere tribe), COME Mission organised a special mission trip, which Gideon joined, to visit the Mere tribe.
03 ㅣ 남태평양에 흩어진 섬나라 선교
남태평양에 흩어진 섬나라들(Vanuatu, Tonga, Solomon Islands)을 방문하여 의료, 교육 선교를 통하여 섬김.

We visited island countries scattered across the South Pacific (Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji and Solomon Islands) and served the locals through medical and educational mission work.
05 ㅣ 세 번째 로뎀의 집, 선교사 안식년 지원 규모 확장.
오클랜드 남쪽 (11 McDougall St, Manurewa)에 소재한 방 3개 규모의 아담한 주택을 구입하여 세 가정이 동시에 머물수 있게 됨.

원천희, 김난주 선교사 가정을 Vanuatu의 Santo 섬에 파송함.

세 번째 선교사 안식년 지원 주택 마당에 방 2개 규모의 집을 구입하여 옮겨오므로 4번째 주택이 완성됨.

01 ㅣ 청소년을 위한 선교 만화 제작 및 청소년 선교학교 실시
이재환 선교사의 ‘미션 파서블’을 청소년들을 위한 만화로 제작하여 청소년들을 위한 요나 선교학교를 실시함.
01 ᅵ Produce Mission Cartoon and Conduct Youth Mission School
'Mission Possible' written by Korean missionary Lee Jae-hwan was produced as a cartoon for teenagers and was used during the Jonah Mission School for teenagers.
09 ㅣ 자립하며 선교하는 모델 모색 및 기반 마련
선교사 안식년 지원을 위해 보수하며 운영했지만 낡아져가는 오클랜드에 소재한 주택들을 김용권 장로의 도움을 받아 매매하고, 곧 이어 헌틀리(24 Upland Road, Huntly)에 소재한 매노뷰즈(Manor views)를 매입함.
09 ㅣ Foundation for a Self-supporting Mission Model
The World Missionary Support Centre sold the existing properties with the help of elder Kim Yong-Kwon. With the proceeds from the sales, the World Missionary Support Centre was able to purchase Manor Views in Huntly.

2019년 헌틀리에 소재한 키위교회(Trinity Church)와 연합하여 솔로몬 제도 선교를 실시하게 됨.

임기홍 Dr. Gideon Im
Managing Director
한국에서 고신대학과 신학대학원을 졸업하고 목사로 안수받은 후 마산동광교회를 섬기다가, 1991년 The Bible College of NZ로 유학와서 공부하던 중 1993년 오클랜드에서 사랑의 교회를 개척하여 7년간 섬겼습니다. 2000년 8월에는 세계선교사지원센터를 설립하였고, 뉴질랜드 한인선교협의회 창립 회장으로, 대양주 한인 예수교 장로회 총회장으로 봉사하기도 하였습니다. 2014년에는 그동안 고민하며 공부한 주제로 미국의 St. Louis 에 소재한 Midwest University에서 크리스챤 리더십 박사 학위를 받았습니다.
After graduating from Kosin University and Kosin Theological Seminary in South Korea, Dr Gideon Im served as a pastor at Masan Dong-Kwang Presbyterian Church. In 1991, he came to New Zealand to further his studies at the Bible College of New Zealand. Two years later, he established the Korean Agape Presbyterian Church in Auckland and served as a pastor for seven years. In August 2000, he established the World Missionary Support Centre. He served as the founding chairperson of the Korean Missionary Council of New Zealand, and as the president of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Churches of Korea in Oceania. In 2014, he received his doctorate in Christian Leadership from Midwest University in St Louis, United States.
이겨레 Koren Lee

한국에서 한동대학교 상담심리복지학부를 졸업하고, 해병대 장교로 군복무를 마쳤습니다. 2008년 아프리카 가나에서 1년간 단기 선교사로 미션스쿨에서 학생들을 가르쳤고, 미전도 종족을 리서치하는 국제지역연구소에서 5년간 중동과 아프리카로 단기 선교를 떠났고, 본부 간사로 활동했습니다. 주님 다시 오실 날을 예비하는 자로 살기로 결단하고, 2017년부터 뉴질랜드 세계선교사지원센터 간사로 섬기고 있습니다.
Koren Lee studied Psychological Counselling and Social Welfare at Handong Global University in South Korea, and finished his military service as a Marine Officer. In 2008, he taught students at a mission school in Ghana, Africa, as a missionary for a year. For five years he served as a staff member at the Handong Center for International Area Studies, and went on research mission trips in the Middle East and Africa. He has decided to live for God, and has been serving as a staff member at the World Missionary Support Centre in New Zealand since 2017.
